Charity Care Policy

Purpose: GNMH is committed to providing quality care without discrimination, and no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay. The Charity Care Program is offered at the discretion of GNMH and is available for uninsured clients as well as those receiving services not covered by their insurance plan.

Policy: The Charity Care Program is offered to clients who meet the financial eligibility criteria. Clients with no income and/or liquid assets will automatically meet the eligibility criteria for 100% discount. GNMH will offer a reduced fee on a sliding scale, of up to 100% of the patient portion of billed charges for households with income at, or below, 300% of federal poverty guidelines.
Clients applying for charity care will be required to provide proof of income and/or liquid assets. GNMH’s guidelines of Charity Care can be retroactive if the client provides the required documents within a reasonable period. GNMH reserves the right to reassess at any point and may require additional documentation to verify qualification to the Charity Care Program. All information acquired throughout the application process will not be retained for future use.
Individualized payment plans will be available for co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, and Medicaid spenddowns. Final approval will be made by the Client Access Manager.
